Software Engineers - Server Applications
Key Responsibilities:
· Design, develop and maintain our core server side location based application and service products.
· Create and contribute to system architecture to ensure the robustness, performance and scalability of the entire system.
· Work with other senior developers to improve existing system, fine tune system performance, and increase overall data throughput.
· Assist with design and development of database schema and entity diagrams.
· Interact with customers and clients.
· Translate customer need into real and robust applications.
· Translate product requirement into design specifications and schedules.
· Participate in design and code reviews.
· Provide technical information relating to application for technical documentation; author internal documentations.
· Work with other developers to set standards and define best practices for coding and design.
· Share the knowledge and work experience you've gained working in the industry.
· Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your function.
· Mentor other Engineers
Qualifications:
· 2+ years of hands on development experience in a commercial software server development environment.
· Experience with all phases of product development lifecycle, including prototyping, test and product release and sustaining engineering.
· Strong experience in C or C++
· Strong experience with Oracle or Postgres.
· Strong experience with UNIX operating systems for development and basic administration. Linux experience a plus.
· Working knowledge of XML, threads and debugging practices.
· Experience with best practices in server application security and TCP/IP development.
· Desire to engage in challenging assignments.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong collaborative skills.
· Self managed proactive work style. Able to work well independently and in a team environment
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
A plus:
· Experience with Python a plus
· Experience with PL/SQL a plus
· Experience with FreeBSD a plus
