Compensation: $30 to $45 per hour

Robert Half Technology is seeking a Network Engineer for a client in Richmond, VA.

* Responsible for managing Cisco network infrastructure to meet performance standards for availability.
* Researches Cisco network technology and monitors performance to ensure operating effectiveness in delivering information and control costs.
* Perform troubleshooting of Cisco networks, monitor networks and investigate performance problems, and documentation of problems and resolutions.
* Monitor and Manage network traffic including policy, security and capacity.
* Optimize and support of a Cisco network infrastructure.
* Provide technical leadership for the Network Platform within the Client network.
* Execute technology projects required by the business relating to new/existing product enhancement and escalations relating to maintenance of the existing network.
* Expectations to develop and document standards and procedures related to the design and maintenance of the network, test plans and results, and participate in review of documentation created by co-workers.

Required Skills: Required Experience:

* 4 years of Cisco Network support and administration experience
* Experience supporting Cisco routers, switches, and hubs
* Ability to support company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks

Desired Experience:

* Cisco Switches (3500, 3700, 4500, 6500, and Nexus series switches)
* Cisco Routers (2600, 2800, 3800, 7500 series)
* Cisco Firewalls (PIX 500 series, ASA 5500 series)
* VoIP Protocols (H.323 Suite, MGCP, SIP, SCCP)
* CCNA or CCNP; CCIE highly desired
* Strong knowledge of Routing Protocols: OSPF, RIP/RIPv2, IGRP,EIGRP, BGP, OTV, HSRP, OSPF, OSI model, SNMP, and RMON.
* In-depth knowledge of VOIP and QoS configuration on both routers and switches
* Networking skills in switches, routers, hubs, servers, , firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS.
