This global industry leader in Industrial Flow Control products is seeking a key sales professional to fill the role of E & C (Engineering & Construction) Sales Manager for their Houston location. Summary: The Sales Manager is a key sales contributor with the responsibility for driving demand and facilitating success around capital projects managed through and by defined by Engineering & Construction firms called on. This individual will be responsible for driving the demand of the Company’s products by identifying key project team decision makers, relaying the value proposition of our product portfolio, driving product specifications, identifying major projects, facilitating the quotation of products for the projects, and ultimately increasing sales through those firms. The individual will work closely with our field sales force and support our go-to-market sales strategy in that region. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Drive organic growth for the Company’s products by establishing relationships with key project specific personnel. Identify key engineers and procurement personnel at defined firms and leverage relationships to ensure fair market positioning of the Company’s products. Know how the Company’s products are viewed by the project team and end-use customer and where not approved (AML), support product and sales management efforts to gain approval. Work closely with the the Company’s sales organization (worldwide) to support local sales efforts related to capital projects assigned to defined ’s. Routinely communicate with appointed project personnel (formal and informal) the value proposition associated with the the Company’s product portfolio. Gain sound technical and commercial understanding of the the Company’s product portfolio and assist personnel with sizing and recommendations of product the meet the written requirements of a process specification. Understand ’s organizational relationship with end-use customers and communicate back through the business. Identify and track major projects Obtain inquiries for the Company’s products as serve as liaison with the company resource assigned responsible for review and preparation of resulting quotations. Actively participate in negotiations around technical and commercial terms proposed by the company in response to an inquiry from a defined . Drive success around a particular capital project (regardless of where the procurement occurs) by open and transparent communication with field sales resources involved with the end-use customer, foreign office of the (primary, secondary or tierciary) or project site. Peer relationships include the following: Americas Sales Managers, Field Sales Engineers, Product Sales Managers, Business Managers, and Global Industry Managers. BACKGROUND AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: An undergraduate degree is required with preference given to a major in an engineering discipline. Five to seven years of solid, progressive sales experience within an organization known for having a progressive sales function. Demonstrated capability in growing sales at significantly faster rates than market conditions. Experience in the business as an engineer or sales engineer that called on similar customers or sells similar products is a definite plus. Outstanding verbal, written, organization and communication skills. Effective negotiating skills. Formal sales training is preferred. A background in a results driven culture; demonstrated track record of driving sales growth, customer expansion and market share growth Demonstrated ability to meet objectives, drive results and operate with the highest level of urgency in solving problems. Travel will be approximately 25 percent (will include periodic foreign travel).
